Nipu is a Polish band formed in march of 2003 by the group of friends: Tomasz "Cola" Kostecki (vocal), Michał "Matys" Matysik (guitar), Przemysław "Junior" Walczak (guitar). In july of 2003 Mariusz "Vaciak" Walczak (drums) and in October Leszek Sokołowski (bass) joined to the band. At the beginning they played rock and blues covers but a little bit later they started to make their own authors' compositions based on inspiration and fascination of Led Zeppelin, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Jimmie Hendrix, Free, Eric Clapton, Dżem (popular rock-blues Polish band) music. In October of 2003 the name of band - Nipu - came into existence.

During all 2004 year long the group was mainly concentrated on composing new song and collecting music instruments and technical equipment. First authors' concert took place in January 2005 in one of Krakow's pub and was the great success. In that year vocalist - Tomasz Kostecki needed to emigrate to France for job. During his absence band competed in "Szloch" festival and played a concert for Dżem's fanclub with Katarzyna Gil as a vocalist.

In march of 2006 Tomek Kostecki came back to Poland and Nipu in cooperation with Bartek "Orzech" Orzechowski recorded their first demo record which included 4 authors songs: Gdy nie wierzy w Ciebie nikt, W pół drogi do domu, Idź pod wiatr, Ostatni raz. During all year the band played intense concerts during festivals, entertainments and also in various pubs in all Poland. In November 2006 in Krakow's studio "Zgniatacz Dźwięków" the band recorded next five authors' compositions. At the same month Michał "Matys" Matysik left group - guitarist and the founder of the band's name. He was replaced by Adam Szarnicki.

2007 year was were busy for the group. They played a lot of concerts, during which met plenty of interesting and admitted Polish artists such as: Cree, Tymon Tymański, Jacek Dewódzki, Róże Europy, Riders. Moreover, Nipu competed in many festivals in Poland. In August in "Koło bluesa festiwal" (Around blues festiwal) the group won a sponsor's award. One month later in "II Rock'n'Tur Festival" in Turku group won a second place. In this year concert of Nipu, which follow a 5th birthday of Radio Bez Kitu was recorded by Interia.tv - first polish internet television.

All concerts of Nipu are full of energy, entertainment and give great fun to audience.
